For a stay exceeding 30 days visa application is referred to Malaysia. This is also called Referral Visa. Application procedure and documents required are mentioned as under.
- All documents mentioned below must be submitted in duplicate.
- The Applicant should have a passport valid for at least 9 months from the date of entry into Malaysia.
- Two sets of visa forms photocopied back to back.
- Photocopy of the first 3 pages of the passport
- Two recent passport-size photographs (35 mm width x 45 mm height) against a white background pasted and not stapled on the application form.
- A typed covering letter from the Applicant explaining the purpose of visit and a sponsorship letter from Malaysia.
- High Commission retains the original documents which are forwarded to the Immigration Department at Kuala Lumpur for a fee of INR 210.
- Approval is usually received in a month, directly by the High Commission.
- Once this is confirmed upon enquiry, the Applicant must submit his/her passport, with confirmed return tickets, for stamping of the visa.
- Processing time is 5 working days.
- Visa is valid for 90 days and more, as per approval.
Note: Kindly be advised as per the new rules of the Malaysian High Commission it is mandatory now to submit original Air ticket. If a dummy ticket is submitted along with the Visa Application and on checking if found dummy, than they can black list the applicant and may never be able to travel Malaysia in future. High Commission will be taking a strong action against any agent who will submit such application. In the last week they even have black listed few agents for submitting dummy air tickets. You are kindly requested to make sure that a valid Air Ticket is submitted and not a dummy, along with the visa application.
Note: Visa for a period less than 30 days is not referred to Malaysia. It is granted in India. Letter of invitation from a local sponsor is not mandatory then.
Applicant applying in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Hyderabad need to pay a service charges of INR 335/- in addition to the Visa & Logistic Fees (Inclusive of Taxes)

- Group Size (25 - 40): Service Charge: INR 310 per application inclusive of taxes.
- Group Size (41 and Above): Service Charge: INR 290 per application inclusive of taxes.
